When Did It Happen?

Some night, a few years ago, I went to bed. And when I woke up the next morning, Mr. Pibb had become Pibb Xtra.

When exactly did it happen? Why? What was wrong with the name Mr. Pibb? What motivated the change? What exactly is "extra" about it? Isn't it just Dr. Pepper anyway?

    I can't say I ever got into Mr. Pibb. I didn't realize until just 15 minutes ago that it's made by the coca cola company. I didn't lose much at all, but at least now I know who to blame.

    The far more important issue to tackle is the obvious conspiracy regarding the lack of a period in either Mr Pibb or Dr Pepper.
